SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE Nov. 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Secretary of Organisation for the PSOE of the Canary Islands, Nira Fierro, described as “absurd” the claims made by the alleged perpetrator of the ‘Koldo case’, the businessman Víctor de Aldama, during his testimony at the National Court this Thursday. De Aldama asserted that the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, allegedly requested 50,000 euros, with the assistance of Koldo García, in return for the procurement of masks within the archipelago.
In a statement issued by the group, he challenged the “plethora of falsehoods and baseless allegations” put forth by “a man who has been imprisoned, targeting respectable and honorable individuals, including Mr. Ángel Víctor Torres in this instance.”
Fierro has made it clear that the PSOE will pursue all necessary legal actions, insisting that it should not be entrusted to an individual capable of making such outrageous and untruthful statements in court.
He also urged the PP to abandon their “electoral theatrics” and return to the “path of honesty” by demanding the resignation of Torres, assuring that the PSOE “will persist in governing this nation”, just as “was evidenced” in the vote on the tax reform in the Congress of Deputies.
“I can appreciate that they might find it easier to believe an alleged criminal than an individual who is neither investigated nor charged, as they might be more familiar with these concepts,” he remarked.
