SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Fairgrounds will be the venue for the XXIX ‘Tenerife Island Ornithological Exhibition 2024′ Competition, taking place from 21 to 24 November. This year, it will also feature the Canary Islands Championship, which is organised by the Cabildo in partnership with the Canary Farmers’ Association ‘Pinzón del Teide.’
The Minister of Industry and Vice President of the Fairgrounds, Manuel Fernández, along with the President of the Canary Farmers’ Association ‘Pinzón del Teide’, Carlos Morales, introduced this event on Monday. It is anticipated to showcase “over 2,500 canaries from 180 canary breeders, competing in various categories including canaries, colour, posture, European fauna, exotics, parakeets, psittacines, and hybrids.”
Horses from across the islands, as well as from other autonomous communities, Portugal, Belgium, and Italy, will also participate in the competition.
In keeping with tradition, the event will also host the XVI monograph of the Melado Tinerfeño Adult, a distinctive competition that represents the finest example of this breed of posture canary developed on the island, which gained international recognition in 2002.
Additionally, this gathering marks the inception of the ‘I monograph of the Lizard,’ as noted by the Cabildo.
Manuel Fernández emphasised that “initiatives like this help to enhance public awareness regarding the significance of responsible animal ownership, while also promoting bird breeding to ensure the preservation of various species.”
