The Ministry of Health, via the National Delegation of the Drug Plan, will auction 22 assets comprising flats, houses, and land seized from drug trafficking, with the proceeds being allocated to prevention initiatives, support for individuals with addiction issues, and combatting crime.
The auction is scheduled for 27th November at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium of the National Mint and Stamp Factory in Madrid. Any individual or legal entity that is duly accredited and meets the stipulated criteria in the specifications is eligible to participate.
The properties available for auction are situated across various Spanish provinces, including Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, San Sebastián, Pontevedra, Santiago de Compostela, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Prices for these properties vary from 32,000 to 600,000 euros.
Property in Tenerife
Specifically, the property being auctioned in Tenerife is located in the municipality of El Rosario, in Tabaiba. It is a residence on the second floor of the Carolina building, covering an area of 45 square metres, complemented by a front terrace of an additional nine square metres.
Currently, the house has been boarded up for safety reasons.
Use of the proceeds
The Ministry has reported that last year over 28 million euros from the Confiscated Assets Fund—which will receive the auction proceeds—were predominantly utilised for drug demand reduction programmes. Meanwhile, the remaining 30% was allocated to decreasing supply, involving crime prosecution and police, customs monitoring, along with similar operations.

Jewellery auction
Simultaneously, the Government Delegation for the National Drug Plan has initiated another online public auction of over 240 jewels seized during drug trafficking operations, where bids can be placed until 28th November through the Escrapalia platform.
The jewellery collection, which includes bracelets, rings, watches, necklaces, and coins, has been assessed by a professional gemmologist and is presented in 183 lots, some individually and others in groups. A significant number of pieces are made of gold, adorned with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies.
