Granadilla has made a significant move to enhance urban mobility by acquiring a stake in the company Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa). This choice is a response to the urban transport responsibilities taken on by the City Council after its population surpassed 50,000 residents. The initiative is backed by an agreement with the Tenerife Cabildo, aimed at bolstering public transport management.
The Councillor for Sustainable Mobility, Carmen Dolores Rodríguez, noted that this initiative, valued at approximately 1,000 euros, “is vital for devising solutions that cater to the demands of our residents, particularly in the more isolated areas of the urban zone.”
During a recent meeting, aside from planning new urban routes, the councillor urged Titsa to enhance several interurban lines suffering from congestion issues, such as the 010 (Santa Cruz-Costa Adeje), the 408 (Granadilla-El Médano), and the 450 and 452, which traverse tourist zones in Adeje. “It is imperative to improve the frequency and capacity of these routes,” she stated.
