Three individuals are facing a worldwide request for sentences totalling fourteen and a half years in prison as the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Prosecutor’s Office deems them responsible for the offence of robbery with intimidation against a pizza delivery driver, whom they threatened with a knife.
They are additionally charged with the use of a weapon and attempted fraud, with one of the defendants facing an aggravating factor of recidivism.
The latter had previously been convicted twice as the perpetrator of two violent robberies, had served six and a half years in prison, and was found in the company of a woman who had received a sentence of six months for a similar offence.
The trio confronted a pizza delivery driver and, after seizing him from behind and placing a knife against his neck and chest, compelled him to surrender the pizzas and everything he possessed.
Specifically, he was carrying a bum bag containing 50 euros, keys to his residence and vehicle, a transport pass, personal documents, and two bank cards, one belonging to his partner, which he attempted to use to pay for two taxi fares totalling 23 euros. However, both transactions were declined as they had been cancelled by the cardholder.
The delivery driver experienced an anxiety episode, and the Public Ministry is requesting compensation of 300 euros for him.
Following the arrest of the accused, the provisional detention of the individual facing the aggravating factor of recidivism was ordered.
