A 40-year-old individual has sustained serious injuries following an accident involving his paraglider in Adeje, situated on the island of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in the launch area for paragliders located in Taucho, within the Adeje municipality. Members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium attended the scene, locating and stabilising the injured party, before transporting him to the site where the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) ambulance was stationed.
The medical team subsequently confirmed that the victim had suffered severe multiple traumas and, after receiving stabilisation, was conveyed by ambulance to the Hospiten Sur University Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Officers from the Local Police also arrived at the scene, assisting the responding teams.
