The Municipal Operational Coordination Centre (Cecopal) of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council announced on Tuesday that, following notifications from the council’s Environment Department and the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government, they have decided to close a section of the renowned Las Teresitas beach for swimming.
Specifically, CECOPAL details on its X profile that this closure affects sectors 5 to 8, inclusive, due to water pollution. Consequently, a red flag has been raised in the area, and bathers have been warned that they are prohibited from entering the water.
Section 8 of the beach experienced a similar closure last July.
