The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society, in collaboration with the southwest district, has introduced the Bocadillo Route to encourage patronage of local establishments while showcasing the creativity and variety of the participating snacks. This initiative was revealed by the municipality’s mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, who noted, “this project emerged as part of our plan to invigorate the district, Enjoy in the Districts. Since October, we have been promoting activities intended to enliven every corner of our municipality.”
The councillor reminds us that “from November 26 to December 19, the spotlight will be on our Southwest area with this culinary venture that is bound to please many of our locals and visitors.”
Carmen Pérez, the CEO of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society, mentioned, “the registration period for those wishing to join the route will remain open until November 14 at 2 p.m. Participation is free, and all contestants will have a chance to win a cash prize. The top-rated ‘snack’ will receive 200 euros, while the second and third places will be awarded 150 euros and 100 euros respectively.”
“Voters will be entered into a raffle via the web app, where three lucky consumers will win a gift voucher worth 50 euros to redeem at one of the participating establishments. This aims to encourage continued patronage once the promotion of three euros per sandwich concludes,” Pérez adds.

Bars, restaurants, taverns, gastrotascas, cafés, and similar establishments with dining or bar facilities may participate in the Bocadillo Route, provided they are either natural or legal persons with the necessary administrative permissions for conducting business in the southwestern district of the municipality.
Javier Rivero, the councillor overseeing the Southwest district, states, “this initiative aims to promote the gastronomy of the southwest area of Santa Cruz and support its restaurant establishments while drawing visitors from across the municipality and various parts of the Islands, or even the Archipelago.”
