SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The White Night of La Laguna, scheduled for November 23, will introduce several innovations, including the provision of lockers at key locations throughout the city. This will allow attendees to securely store their purchases and fully savour the day’s activities and festive ambience. Lockers will be accessible at the La Laguna Open Commercial Zone (LLZC), situated at Obispo Rey Redondo Street, 34, and at the Caja Escape Room, located on Herradores Street 23.
Purchases can be deposited at these locations from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., with members of the public able to retrieve them until Monday, November 25, during business hours. This initiative was announced by La Laguna City Council’s Commerce Mayor, Estefanía Diaz, who emphasised that the aim is to “enhance the shopping experience, enabling the public to leave their bags at these spots without the worry of carrying them while they enjoy a wide range of cultural events, street performances, art exhibitions, concerts, and various sports, culinary, and recreational activities available for all audiences.
“The real stars of the White Night are our traders, a day dedicated to boosting their sales and showcasing their offerings. Numerous establishments will extend their hours until midnight and provide special deals in this vibrant and welcoming atmosphere,” stated Díaz, underscoring that this all-day service will permit attendees to wander freely without the burden of their bags, allowing them to continue exploring the shops. She clarified that this initiative was put forward by the business sector as part of the ‘Colour on White’ White Night Forum, which the Department is advancing to work collaboratively with various social stakeholders in the city’s event planning.
“For retailers, this service also represents a benefit, as it allows individuals and families to spend more time exploring cultural and shopping opportunities without feeling encumbered by their purchases. Moreover, with the support of the lockers, they can make several stops without worrying about carrying heavy bags, ultimately encouraging more footfall in stores and a potential boost in sales,” she added.
The president of La Laguna Open Commercial Zone (LLZC), Iván Pérez, who also took part in this Forum, emphasised the importance of this event for the local economy. “La Noche en Blanco is a commitment to the economic and social advancement of La Laguna, and we are collaborating with businesses to present an appealing shopping experience.” Pérez noted that “this locker system represents a logistical improvement so that our visitors can explore commerce and culture with ease and comfort, strolling and pausing at the various revitalisation activities spread across the city.”
La Laguna boasts a prominent commercial sector within the island market. “This November 23, each business will have the chance to showcase its identity again and narrate its story to attendees—a perfect opportunity to connect with new customers and cultivate an inviting atmosphere that reflects the quality and uniqueness of its products and brands,” added Estefanía Díaz.
