The construction of the new Santa Cruz Sports Complex, located adjacent to the Helidoro Rodríguez López stadium in the Health-La Salle area, is nearing completion. Its inauguration is anticipated for next month, April, with a capacity to accommodate up to 12,000 users, making it the largest sports complex in the capital.

This facility will feature modern amenities, including a 1,700-square-metre gym, versatile spaces, a play area for children, and a café.

Additionally, three pools will be part of the complex, named after David González: a 25-metre pool, a splash pool, and another equipped with jets.

This revamped facility will enhance the city’s sports amenities, joining the Paco Álvarez pavilion within the complex, which will comprise four courts for team sports and a basketball court, anticipated to retain priority usage for the teams that previously utilised the former facility.

In terms of accessibility, the complex will provide 300 free parking spots, offering two complimentary hours for subscribers, along with outdoor recreational areas.

The design includes a publicly accessible plaza that will connect with Heliodoro Rodríguez López and La Mutine streets, featuring free children’s play areas and community gathering spots.

Currently, the pre-registration list for future subscribers remains open, with over 6,000 individuals already registered.

This initiative, promoted by the Santa Cruz City Council, is managed in partnership with Go fit, a company that will incorporate the complex into its network of sports centres, aimed at fostering well-being and health within urban settings.
