A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) successfully rescued a 46-year-old man this Monday, who sustained several moderate injuries following a fall in a rocky area of La Matanza.
The incident took place after midday when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government received a notification indicating that a man had fallen in a hard-to-reach rocky locale in central El Caleton and was in need of medical assistance.
Crews from the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium reached the casualty and administered initial care. Rescuers from the GES helicopter disembarked and, in conjunction with the firefighters, executed the rescue operation, hoisting the individual onto the aircraft for transport to a secure area, which had also been set up by the Firefighters.
Once grounded, the staff from SUC examined and attended to the individual, who was then taken by sanitised ambulance to the Canary Islands University Hospital.
The Local Police and the Civil Guard assisted alongside other resources involved in the emergency response.
