SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 4 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) saved a 46-year-old man on Monday, who sustained various moderate injuries after falling in a rocky area of La Matanza.
The incident took place shortly after midday, when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government received a notification about a man who had fallen in a location with challenging rocky terrain in the centre of El Caleton and needed medical assistance.
Members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium reached the individual and provided initial aid, before GES rescuers descended from the helicopter. Together with the firefighters, they proceeded to rescue the man and hoisted him onto the aircraft, transferring him to a secure area, which had also been set up by the Firefighters.
Once on the ground, the staff of SUC evaluated and treated the injured man, who was then transported by ambulance to the Canary Islands University Hospital.
The Local Police and Civil Guard assisted alongside other emergency resources in the operation that was mobilised.
