SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 31 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
On Thursday, the deputies, along with the staff of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, observed a minute of silence in honour and solidarity with the victims of DANA across several autonomous regions.
The flags at the main front of the Chamber will be flown at half-mast throughout the three days of national mourning, while institutional emblems will display crepe mourning bands from Thursday until Saturday.
“From the Canary Islands, we empathise with the suffering of those affected by this devastating disaster and remain vigilant about the search for the missing. Today, we wish to extend all our support to the families of the deceased and our solidarity to the regional and local authorities, who are currently grappling with a very challenging situation. We express our deepest gratitude to them, and of course, to the professionals and volunteers in the emergency services and State Security Forces,” stated President Astrid Pérez.
