The Ecuadorian craftsman Ricardo Villaba was honoured this Thursday evening with the Museum of Ibero-American Crafts Award during the Tricontinental Fair held at the Tenerife Fairgrounds.
In this context, artisans Rodrigo Lizama from Chile and Jesús Hernández Torres from Mexico were awarded second and third prizes, respectively, while the prize for the best decoration of the Tricontinental Fair was given to the ‘Traditional Textiles in Alpaca-Cuzco’ stand.
The Minister of Employment and Education of the Cabildo, Efraín Medina, expressed his delight at the quality of the entries presented in this, the fifteenth edition of the awards, as well as the stands.
“The aim of the award is to encourage the creativity of artisans to enhance popular art, thereby fostering new artistic generations. At the same time, it seeks to increase awareness within the artisan sector to promote the design and quality of their works,” he stated.
