The Sunday Consumption Vouchers available this Thursday were completely sold out within 8 minutes. This was confirmed by the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, who stated, “We have commenced the month of November with 700 vouchers to be used this Sunday, November 3. This quick sell-out also demonstrates the considerable enthusiasm that this initiative has once again received from the public, with 352 individuals managing to purchase all the vouchers within mere minutes.”
Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, added that “this latest distribution of Consumption Vouchers signifies an investment of 17,500 euros among the 70 businesses participating in the program.” “The Sunday Consumption Vouchers are priced at 7.50 euros, allowing purchases of up to 25 euros, which is a highly appealing offer for the 352 customers who successfully purchased these vouchers, as well as an incentive for all the retailers in our municipality,” she noted.
“It is crucial to remember that the vouchers purchased on Thursday morning can only be redeemed this Sunday, November 3. Furthermore, individuals are permitted to buy a maximum of two vouchers per week and six throughout the entire campaign,” she emphasised.
“Our Sunday Consumption Voucher initiative will be supported by an extensive programme of activities to celebrate Halloween, alongside the commercial campaign ‘We reward your purchases’, which, in collaboration with Zona Centro, will allow customers spending over 20 euros the chance to enter a raffle for a variety of products while stocks last,” she stated.
“Additionally, the Plaza Alameda Duque de Santa Elena and the Plaza del Príncipe will feature two play areas equipped with bouncy castles, workshops, and photo booths. In the play area of Alameda, children will enjoy four unique workshops from 10:30 to 12:30 and again from 16:00 to 18:00: ‘Telling Scary Stories’, ‘Accordion Ghosts’, ‘Terrifying Bracelets’, and ‘Phantom Chupa Chups’. Concurrently, workshops featuring tattoos, puppets, terrifying markers, and masks will take place in the Plaza del Príncipe,” she highlighted.
Moreover, the main shopping streets will feature assorted entertainment, including a themed dynamic with four performances scheduled for 11:00, 13:00, 16:00, and 17:30. This activity will also include Halloween parades, which will traverse Castillo, Valentín Sanz, and Bethencourt Alfonso streets, culminating at Alameda del Duque with three parades at 10:30, 12:30, and 17:00.
‘Hello, Sunday’ has emerged from a participatory approach involving consultations with the sector. It is a project rooted in governance, inter-administrative and institutional collaboration, and sector support, aiming to foster new strategies for the economic and commercial growth of Santa Cruz. This initiative aligns with the Commerce Master Plan (axis 4: Dynamization and promotion of consumption) and the city’s Strategic Tourism Plan (axis 3: Product and destination marketing).
