The Santa Úrsula Town Council has announced a temporary prohibition on the use of water for drinking, cooking, and food preparation in certain areas of the municipality. This decision has been made following the latest assessment by the Municipal Water Supply Service, which identified an indicator surpassing advised levels.
The resolution was taken in cooperation with health authorities, who advise residents in the impacted regions to refrain from using drinking water for these purposes until further notice.
As per the announcement, water remains safe for other domestic activities such as laundry, personal hygiene, and cleaning kitchen items. To ensure access to drinking water, collection points have been established near the affected areas, where residents can obtain safe water for consumption.
Established Collection Points
- Zone 1: Farrobillo Square
- Zone 2: Carretera Vieja, adjacent to Repsol petrol station
- Zone 3: Corujera Square
- Zone 4: Transformation Space, IES Santa Úrsula
- Zone 5: Fernando Luis Pavilion
- Zone 6: Ribera Park
These collection points will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Town Council has emphasised that this situation is temporary, with an update on the service’s status anticipated next Tuesday, November 5, around midday.
The local authorities regret any inconvenience caused to residents and have made the contact number 922 301 640 (Ext. 2215) available for those requiring further information or having inquiries regarding the restriction.
