Interurban Transport of Tenerife (Titsa) has issued a warning regarding a fraud related to the Card Ten+, the voucher scheme for public transport in Tenerife.
The organisation has announced on its social media channels that a Facebook account is deceitfully advertising a purported promotion of unlimited journeys for a period of six months, covering both bus and tram services, for just 2.95 euros, under the guise of an “exclusive offer for residents of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.”
The message is being disseminated from a profile named “Santa Cruz de Tenerife Public Transport” and claims to give users the chance to access unlimited journeys via the Ten+ Card, alleging that it is a unique promotion to mark the seventh anniversary of the card.
The offer also claims that only the first 500 participants to sign up will be able to take advantage of this deal and that it will be accessible for seven days via an attached link.
The company clarifies that this information is entirely false and reiterates that both the renewal and acquisition of the Ten+ Card should be conducted solely at official sales points.
For further information and to undertake any processes securely, the company recommends visiting its official website or going directly to accredited sales points.
This is not the first instance of such fraud; a similar scheme was identified last summer when a social media profile falsely advertised free journeys for a year by registering through a fake link.
The company remains dedicated to informing and safeguarding users against these fraudulent attempts, emphasising the importance of consulting official sources for information regarding its services.
