The Department of Mobility and Universal Accessibility, led by Evelyn Alonso, has established 80% of minimum services for the urban transport bus routes operated by Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife SA (Titsa) within the municipality. This decision comes in response to the announcement of a national strike in the sector, which will commence at 00:00 hours tomorrow, October 28, and last until 23:59 on the same day.
As a result, the 29 routes serving the capital municipality, which carry over 930,000 passengers each month, will experience a reduction in regular services from 179 to 134 tomorrow, as these minimum service levels are set at 80%.
The department, overseen by Evelyn Alonso, reminds residents that in certain areas of the municipality, taxis are the only alternative means of transport available. Consequently, some routes will continue to operate at full capacity. These include lines 909, 916, 917, 940, 944, 945, 946, 947, 971, and 975.
Regarding interurban transport, the Cabildo has designated minimum services at 75%, which aligns with the percentage established by La Laguna City Council for its urban transport. This information has been communicated by Titsa via their website (https://titsa.com), where the latest updates on the strike notice can be found.
