SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 26 Oct (EUROPA PRESS) –
Environmental officials from the Cabildo de Tenerife have filed a report against an individual for using a portable barbecue in an unauthorised location, posing a threat of forest fire.
This information was shared by the Association of Forestry and Environmental Agents of the Canary Islands (AFMACAN), which emphasises that the use of fire is restricted to designated fire pits established in recreational areas.
The individual in question set up a homemade barbecue constructed from a beer barrel, positioning it on rocks without first removing the surrounding pine needles, creating a significant fire hazard.
