The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society will commence the sale of Sunday Consumption Bonds this Friday, October 25, which can be redeemed until the 27th. The bonds will be available for purchase from 10:00 a.m. This announcement was made by the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, who stated, “we are concluding October with a new edition of our ‘Hello, Sunday’ initiative, a project that has been exceptionally well received by the entire community and one that we will replicate for two additional weekends during the first and third weeks of November.”

“This Sunday,” the capital councillor continues, “the streets of Santa Cruz will again be bustling with leisure and shopping, thanks to both this economic development project and the various revitalisation activities taking place within our municipality. It presents an opportunity to once again demonstrate the success of this initiative.”

Carmen Pérez, the CEO of the Development Society, adds that “for this Sunday, 700 bonds will be made available, amounting to a total of 17,500 euros, which can be exchanged at 66 different businesses in Santa Cruz.” She emphasised that “this is a commitment from our council to bolster the economy and encourage purchases within our local businesses.”

She further explained that “in line with previous Sundays, we have opted to sell vouchers valued at 25 euros, where the user contributes 7.50 euros and the City Council subsidises the remaining 17.50 euros, allowing the consumer to enjoy a 70% discount.”

“In prior weeks, the vouchers have sold out within minutes. This phenomenon is anticipated to occur again this Friday and during the two Fridays in November when we will continue this initiative, with the aim of sustaining economic activity,” the councillor highlights.

“Our consumer voucher scheme will coincide with an array of revitalisation activities, such as the parades of The Avengers, featuring performances at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.” He also recalls that “those with an interest in comics can come to the Palacio de Carta from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to enjoy the Comic Hall exhibition, which explores themes of death from various angles, with humour being a central aspect. It promises to be a day filled with stories and illustrations, complemented by exhibitions in the García Sanabria Art Room and the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts,” he adds.

“Hello, Sunday” emerged from a participatory process involving consultations with the sector. It is a project founded on governance, inter-administrative collaboration, and support for the sector, aiming to promote fresh strategies for the economic and commercial development of Santa Cruz. This initiative aligns with the Commerce Master Plan (axis 4 Dynamisation and promotion of consumption) and the city’s Strategic Tourism Plan (axis 3 Product and destination marketing).

Individuals interested in acquiring Sunday Consumption Bonds will be able to do so tomorrow, Friday, October 25, from 10:00 a.m. on the website www.holadomingo.com, where they can also find details on participating commercial establishments. Each individual can purchase a maximum of two vouchers weekly, with up to six available throughout the entire campaign.
