SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 23 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital, affiliated with the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government, has triumphed in the Kidney and Urinary Tract category and has been selected as a finalist in the Digestive category at the national Top 20 Hospitals awards, organised by the Iqvia company.
Roberto G. Pescoso, the manager of the centre, accepted both accolades on behalf of all the professionals, marking it as the only hospital in the Canary Islands to receive a nomination.
For 25 years, these recognitions have been awarded to public and private hospitals across the country in twelve distinct categories: nervous system; heart; digestive; musculoskeletal; kidney and urinary tract; women; respiratory; paediatrics; critical patient care; emergencies; hospital costs; and overall hospital management.
Within each category, metrics are examined such as the number of emergency cases handled, outpatient consultations, the number of beds within the hospital complex, and the total treatments administered in the Day Hospital. Consequently, thirty processes are scrutinised encompassing over 120 indicators.
This data is collated through the cooperation between healthcare services and Health Management, which assumes the responsibility of organising and overseeing all the necessary documentation.
La Candelaria Hospital was ranked among the top twenty health centres in the Digestive field and was recognised as one of the five leading hospitals in the country for the management of urinary and kidney health issues.
This event, orchestrated by the information and technology firm Iqvia, has been working since 1999 with more than 250 Spanish health centres to enhance the patient care system. The awards not only celebrate hospitals that meet the highest standards, but also offer insights into areas for improvement and guidance on how to achieve it.
