The Cabildo of Tenerife has unveiled a cultural application aimed at enhancing access to and promotion of events on the island. Since last June, the Culture Area has been collaborating with La Mecha Studio on the creation of this app, which was showcased this Tuesday.
This new tool is accessible to everyone. “It serves as a means to showcase the extensive and quality cultural offerings available on the Island each week. It will also provide updates regarding the variety of languages available,” stated the Vice President and Minister of Tourism, Lope Afonso.
The Minister of Culture and Museums of Tenerife, José Carlos Acha, remarked that “we are dedicated to providing inclusive cultural information that reaches all sections of society and is centralised. This is the first instance of an app related to culture being developed by the Tenerife Cabildo. For the first time, this application includes all venues associated with Culture and Museums of the Tenerife Corporation.”
The app enables users to effortlessly navigate through the notable cultural events across the island. The home screen features the most significant events of the month, along with options to filter and quickly locate events by categories such as music, theatre, art, and more.
Each event is accompanied by comprehensive details, including date, time, location, and description, which facilitates planning for attendance.
Additionally, the app boasts an interactive calendar, allowing users to search for events by month, thereby helping them discover activities that suit their timetable. Furthermore, it provides direct access to the schedules of key cultural venues in Tenerife, such as the Tenerife Auditorium, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, Tenerife Museums, and the Network of Municipal Stage Spaces, which consolidates the cultural offerings onto a single platform.
It is important to highlight that the app is already available in the Apple Store and will soon be released on Android, thereby broadening its accessibility for all users.
This initiative, in partnership with the Culture Area of the Cabildo de Tenerife, aims to foster increased engagement in the island’s cultural life, thereby enhancing visibility and access to its essential events.
