The Councillor for Commerce and Tourism of Candelaria, María del Carmen Clemente, along with the Councillor for Institutional Relations, Francisco Pinto, welcomed Krysten Martín, CEO of Commerce and Business Support of the Cabildo, at the Candelaria Town Hall to assess the progress of the initiative to expand the network of Open Commercial Zones (ZCA), a project spearheaded by FAUCA and endorsed by the Cabildo.

In the course of the meeting, the milestones achieved since the project’s inception were revisited, and the specific actions undertaken in Candelaria were examined, alongside the challenges and prospects ahead for local commerce. Krysten Martín emphasised the significance of maintaining partnerships and fostering close collaboration between public authorities and the private sector to rejuvenate traditional shopping areas. The CEO also underscored the necessity of reinforcing business associations, enhancing the productive framework, and encouraging the professional development of their leaders to optimise management and boost the competitiveness of trade.

The Councillor for Commerce and Tourism expressed her contentment with the collaboration of the Cabildo and FAUCA, affirming that “this project is vital to stimulate local commerce and enhance the shopping experience for residents and tourists alike.” Abbas Moujir, president of FAUCA, also joined the meeting, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts.
