Hungarian Authorities Capture Three Fugitives in Tenerife

The National Police have apprehended three fugitives in Tenerife over the past month who are sought by Hungarian authorities.

The police have stated that those arrested were subject to different European Arrest and Surrender Orders issued by Hungary, with one individual wanted for alleged involvement in a criminal organisation focused on illegal human trafficking.

The second individual is sought for crimes related to robbery with violence and drug trafficking, while the third is wanted for multiple counts of robbery with violence.

“Upon receiving the request for international cooperation, the National Police promptly commenced the necessary investigations to locate and apprehend the fugitives. The investigations established that all of them were residing in Tenerife,” stated the National Police.

The sentences given to those detained in their home country range from three to eight years in prison.

The three fugitives were taken to police stations and presented before the court to initiate the processes for their extradition back to Hungary.

The Police remind the public that citizen cooperation can be vital in locating fugitives, as they may be seen across the national territory. They also noted that anyone can visit the police website to view the most wanted individuals in the “collaborate” section under “wanted”.
