Navigating the Tenerife Tram: Common Behaviors That Hinder Your Journey

One of the most awkward moments for users of the Tenerife tram occurs during boarding and alighting, particularly during peak times, when the sight of crowds and lack of smooth movement is almost tangible.

To mitigate such situations, Metrotenerife has shared a message via its social media platforms, recording some essential gestures that can greatly enhance the experience for everyone involved.

The primary recommendation is straightforward yet effective: let passengers exit before entering. This fundamental courtesy rule aids in easing mobility within the tram, allowing those who have already reached their destination to disembark without hindrances, thereby expediting the process for those waiting to board.

Additionally, it is advised that users do not cluster around the doors, as the tram provides 33 metres of space that can be utilised to prevent congestion at entry points.

Another significant point is the importance of respecting individuals with reduced mobility who have designated areas for priority use. Facilitating access and relinquishing seats when necessary is vital to ensure a comfortable journey for all. “Pretending not to give up a seat is simply not an option.”

These minor acts of cooperation not only enhance the experience for each traveller but also promote a more streamlined flow in a mode of transport that has become essential for daily commuting within the metropolitan region of Tenerife.
