The Sunday Consumption Bonds, which are set to be redeemed on October 20, will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, October 18, at 10:00 am. This announcement was made by the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, who stated that “this time, the ‘Hello, Sunday’ initiative coincides with the Canarias Surf Film Festival, an event we anticipate will attract a considerable audience and, in turn, serve as an incentive for those keen on acquiring these new vouchers while positively influencing our local economy.”

“Through this initiative, we aim to boost economic activity via revitalisation efforts and the hosting of various events that occur on Sundays in the capital. October 20 marks the third installment of this programme, which has already delivered excellent results, and we remain hopeful it will continue to do so in the upcoming weekends,” he continued.

Carmen Pérez, the CEO of the Development Society, added that “for this Sunday, 500 bonds will be made available with a total value of 12,500 euros, which can be redeemed at 47 establishments located throughout our municipality.” Furthermore, she emphasised, “it is crucial to note that, as with previous Sundays, the vouchers will feature a total value of 25 euros, with 7.50 contributed by the user and 17.50 by the Capital City Council, allowing the consumer to enjoy a 70% discount.”

“On October 20, the streets of Santa Cruz will come alive with cinema, music, workshops and shopping, thanks to the Canarias Surf Film Festival, one of the most distinctive and vibrant festivals in the Canary Islands. This celebration will animate locations such as the downtown area, Plaza del Príncipe, and the Círculo de la Amistad XII de Enero, where films centred around surfing will be screened,” she concluded.

‘Hello, Sunday’ emerged from a participatory process that engaged consultations with the sector. It is a project built on governance, inter-administrative collaboration, and institutional support for the sector, aiming to foster innovative strategies for the economic and commercial advancement of Santa Cruz. The initiative aligns with the Commerce Master Plan (axis 4: Dynamisation and promotion of consumption) and the city’s Strategic Tourism Plan (axis 3: Product and destination marketing).

Individuals wishing to purchase Sunday Consumption Bonds can do so this Friday, October 18, starting at 10:00 a.m. on the website www.holadomingo.com, where participants can also view the commercial establishments involved. Each individual is permitted to buy a maximum of two vouchers per week and six throughout the entire campaign.
