The Autonomous Organization of Festivals and Recreational Activities (OAFAR) of the Santa Cruz City Council organizes this Friday, October 18 from the 8:30 p.m.which will symbolically be the first dance of Carnival 2025.

Previously, the poster announcing the festival will be presented, designed by the prestigious international artist REWA, after the appointment of the Festival Councilor, Javier Caraballero.

This edition, under the theme “Secrets of Africa”, will kick off with a large party open to the public that will include St. Pedro, a Tenerife singer who is a finalist at Benidorm Fest 2024 and La Voz 2017, as well as the author of songs recognized as Two Strangers, The Idiot or Water for the Flowers; the Raspberry Orchestra, which will once again perform the most legendary songs of the Carnival with which they will make all attendees dance; the Tenerife voice of Arodi Llanos, and DJ Fabrizzio Salgado, who will provide the most urban and current essence in a show that will last until 00.00 hours.

The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, invites citizens to participate in this first event of Carnival 2025. “After last year’s success, we have opted to repeat the formula to present the advertising poster, and we do it with a simple but It is full of the spirit that can be enjoyed in the next edition, which will be dedicated to Africa, so I invite everyone to join this first approach to the 2025 Carnival.”

An event in which REWA, the Nigerian artist who created the poster, will be present, and will travel from Lagos (Nigeria) to Santa Cruz to show the public present the design that will visually represent the 2025 edition of the festival. For the artist, selected after councilor Javier Caraballero’s decision to alternate each year between author’s poster and popular contest with the aim of improving the external promotion of the festivity and increasing the heritage and artistic value of the carnival, it is It was an honor to participate in this event and he adds that “being able to show the work first-hand to the public is a unique opportunity that I could not miss.”

In the words of Caraballero, “next Friday’s event will be the perfect opportunity for the most carnival fans to enjoy a Carnival night in which if they want, they can arrive dressed up,” to which he adds that “I am sure that The poster will be very popular with the public and the prepared show will make the next day the 18th an unforgettable event for party lovers, just as happened last year, the first time we organized an event of this nature to present the poster announcing the festival. edition”.

With this festive event, the starting signal for Carnival 2025 is given, symbolically, which will officially begin on January 31 with the Inaugural Gala of the edition.
