Tenerife has been identified as the most perilous location to operate a motorcycle within all of Spain. This is supported by findings from the General Directorate of Traffic, which lists up to 18 areas of high risk on the island, where numerous accidents have been recorded repeatedly over the past few years. Consequently, the island is home to the highest number of hazardous zones for motorcyclists in the entire nation. The extensive catalogue of critical locations is attributed, among other factors, to Tenerife’s challenging topography, characterised by winding bends, cliffs, and massifs like those found in Anaga and Teno, compelling riders on two wheels to exercise utmost vigilance.
