“My young daughter is unable to sleep and, tomorrow, she has school early.” This is the grievance of a resident from Weyler Square, who has conveyed her concerns to NOTICE DIARY. The cause? Construction activities in the vicinity for the installation of a new bus stop directly in front of the Captaincy Palace.
The resident asserts that the latest stage of work occurred last night, sending a video that shows machinery in operation at 10:48 p.m., producing considerable noise.
“Many of us are voicing our protests regarding this matter,” she states, highlighting that obtaining rest is unfeasible due to these ongoing activities. The predominant noise results from the removal of paving stones in preparation for asphalting.
Officials from the municipal council have stated that the work in Plaza Weyler was largely finalised yesterday. “The City Council apologises for any inconvenience this construction may cause, and requests understanding and patience regarding this necessary work aimed at improving mobility within the city,” they articulated.
