SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13 Oct (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canarian Coalition (CC) has called upon the Socialist Party (PSOE) in the Canary Islands to take “a decisive step” following the release of a new report from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard. This report reveals connections between the secretary of the Canarian socialists and Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, during his tenure as president of the Canary Islands and the alleged wrongdoers involved in the ongoing investigation related to the so-called Koldo case.
The Canarian nationalists assert that the information disclosed in the recent hours of the police inquiry “is sufficiently grave” and compels the socialists “to confront the situation in the Canary Islands and assume political responsibility if necessary.”
The Canary Coalition warns that “neither silence nor distractions to divert attention can serve as responses from the PSOE” to those who urge “an exercise in responsibility and transparency, since what we are discussing is how they managed and what actions they took in the midst of a health crisis involving the resources of all citizens in the Canary Islands, initially for the procurement of masks and later, as mentioned in the UCO report, for the contracting of PCR tests for Canary Islanders living abroad.”
The Canarian nationalists highlight that the leader of the Canarian socialists, Ángel Víctor Torres, “is taking an excessive amount of time to clarify why his name appears associated with those of the four individuals under scrutiny in the alleged corruption case regarding the procurement of PCR tests,” which is compounded by the contracting of masks that never arrived in the Canary Islands, amounting to 4 million euros.
For CC, “the police investigation is unequivocal and provides sufficient grounds for the Canarian socialists to step forward and render their management transparent during the health crisis.”
