Citizens redeemed 97% of the Sunday Consumption Vouchers available for the previous Sunday. This was communicated by José Manuel Bermúdez, the mayor of Santa Cruz, who noted that “the commercial outlets participating in the initiative exchanged a total of 23,082.10 euros during the inaugural day of the Hello, Sunday campaign, which coincidentally fell on the Full Moon festival in Santa Cruz.”

In this regard, Bermúdez emphasised that “for both the citizens, who sold out the 950 vouchers made available last Friday in merely 20 minutes, and for the business sector, this initiative has proven to be quite beneficial. Evidence of this is that on the very first Sunday of the campaign, 68 establishments took part.” He further added that “additionally, the total amount exchanged was distributed among a significant number of the participating establishments, with 62 out of the 68 handling Sunday Consumption Vouchers, and more than half a dozen even surpassing 900 euros each.”

Carmen Pérez, the CEO of the Development Society, mentioned that “this Sunday, coinciding with the Plenilunio celebration, about a dozen participating establishments nearly reached the total amount available for exchange, with some even redeeming the full amount permitted per establishment, which is 1,000 euros.” She highlighted that “it is essential to bear in mind that Sunday Consumption Bonuses can solely be utilised on the designated Sunday.”

Furthermore, Pérez announced that “next Sunday, October 13, there will be another Hello, Sunday event, providing citizens with another chance to redeem the Consumer Bonds that will go on sale this Friday.” She added that, “this time, it will coincide with the celebration of the XVIII International Clownbaret Festival, and we hope that its reception will once again mirror that of last Sunday during Plenilunio.”

Until November

In this regard, Pérez reminded individuals that these vouchers can be purchased from the website www.bonoconsumosantacruz.com, starting at 10:00 a.m. this coming Friday, where one can also find a list of participating establishments. She mentioned that “this initiative will continue on the remaining Sundays of October and on the first and third Sundays of November.”
