SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 9 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
An unidentified female individual tragically drowned this Wednesday afternoon in the Charco de La Laja area, located on the coastline of Bajamar (La Laguna).
The incident took place shortly after 1:30 p.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government received a notification regarding a woman in distress at sea.
Helimer rescuers successfully retrieved the woman from the ocean and transported her to Tenerife South Airport, where medical staff from the SUC helicopter pronounced her deceased.
The rescue operation also involved members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium and law enforcement agencies.
