Officers from the National Police, in conjunction with the Local Police of Arona, have executed a law enforcement operation at a coffee shop in the southern region of Tenerife, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the subsequent closure of the venue due to significant technical deficiencies.
Among those apprehended is the establishment’s public relations officer, who, unaware of the undercover nature of the agents, invited them to enter the venue to partake in marijuana. The individual led the officers through the club where illicit activities pertaining to drug trafficking were conducted.
Within the establishment, two employees were present, one responsible for distributing marijuana, food, and beverages along with his companion, who happened to be visiting that day. Both confessed to the officers that their supervisors had cautioned them against possessing large quantities of marijuana on the premises due to recent police actions closing several venues in the vicinity.
During the raid, officers discovered a total of 930 grams of marijuana, 50 marijuana cigarettes, and 1,100 euros in cash. Additionally, various tools used for weighing and distributing marijuana and related products were confiscated, alongside edible items like cakes, gummies, and vapes infused with THC.
The operation concluded with the sealing of the establishment, a measure coordinated with the Local Police of Arona. The three detainees have been handed over to the judicial authorities, and the agents persist in their efforts to combat organised crime.
The National Police urges the public to report any knowledge, indications, or suspicions regarding activities related to such crimes. Citizens can reach out via the police.es website using the ‘contact’ button to provide information anonymously or through the email address antidroga@policía.es.
