The Tenerife tram has installed a notice beside the tracks stating “Cross only at pedestrian crossings”, aiming to alert the public against crossing the tracks, particularly when a tram is nearby.

“It appears to be such a straightforward message… so sensible… so rational… yet at times we seem to overlook it”, with this statement on social media, they have reminded everyone of this vital rule for pedestrians.

Recently, a woman was injured after being struck by a tram near Weyler Square in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Such incidents occur frequently due to the negligence of some pedestrians who attempt to cross in non-designated areas.
