The Board of Spokespersons of the Cabildo of El Hierro has resolved today to declare three days of official mourning following the recent shipwreck of a canoe off the coast of the island, which resulted in the deaths of nine migrants and left at least 48 individuals unaccounted for.
This statement was made by the president of the Cabildo, Alpidio Armas (PSOE), during a press statement in which he outlined that a minute of silence will be observed in honour of the victims this Tuesday at 12:00 p.m.
