SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 27 September (EUROPA PRESS) –
Samuel Machín, under investigation for his supposed mediation in the ‘mask case’, for which 4 million euros were disbursed for medical supplies that were never received, has claimed that the company RR7 United SL did not compensate him “at any time” the agreed amount for his mediation in procuring masks.
He expressed this today, Friday, during the parliamentary commission probing the alleged irregular acquisitions of medical supplies during the pandemic by the Government of the Canary Islands, where Samuel Machín, like several other witnesses, opted to invoke his right to remain silent.
In response to numerous inquiries from the various commission members, Samuel Machín only spoke up to clarify that the company RR7, solely administered by Rayco González, established a contract that “was not signed” and for which he did not receive any payment “at any time” of the amount agreed upon through his mediation.
“They haven’t paid me. I worked for nearly two years without receiving anything. In fact, I didn’t even get back the signed contract from [RR7],” remarked Machín. “I worked diligently to ensure those masks reached the hospitals in the Canary Islands that so desperately needed them, but I was not compensated,” stated Samuel Machín, who even queried “who is that person” when asked about his current association with Rayco González.
Since the establishment of this investigative commission last May, the responses to the inquiries from its members, who were part of the expert committee set up by the Canary Islands Executive, Lluís Serra and Beatriz González López-Valcárcel, along with Oscar Trujillo, the founder of One Airways, have been minimal.
