Motorcyclist Arrested After Dangerous Shoulder Overtaking on TF-5

Agents from the Civil Guard have apprehended a 36-year-old motorcyclist in Tenerife who was driving dangerously while evading capture after being spotted overtaking multiple vehicles on the shoulder during a traffic stop on the TF-5.

The incident occurred at kilometre 36.5 of the aforementioned road when a Civil Guard patrol witnessed this manoeuvre and attempted to stop the motorist, who disregarded the signal and accelerated away towards Icod de los Vinos, performing several perilous overtakes, according to sources from the armed institute.

After numerous warnings to halt, the motorcyclist opted to enter the urban area of Los Realejos, where he lost control of the motorcycle and fell. During his arrest, he reportedly resisted, according to sources.

He was made aware of his rights and required to appear before the Investigative Court on duty in the judicial district of La Orotava, to which the relevant proceedings were forwarded.

He is being investigated as the alleged perpetrator of the offences of reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle with an invalid driving licence due to total loss of legally allocated points, as well as serious disobedience and assault against law enforcement officers.
