SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands approved on Monday the appointment of Sandra Rodríguez as the new Director General of Child and Family Protection. This marks her return to the role after being exonerated by the TSJC over a case involving the ‘direct appointment’ of her partner while she served as a councillor at the Puerto de la Cruz City Council.
Rodríguez stepped down from her position in February following an initial ruling that imposed a nine-year disqualification for an offence of prevarication occurring during 2015 and 2016 related to the municipal service company in the tourist city (Parmarsa).
Now, seven months later, she resumes her role, succeeding Juana de La Rosa. The TSJC cleared her of wrongdoing, stating that there was no public recruitment process for selecting personnel at Pamarsa. Additionally, they noted that the individual in question held the necessary qualifications to perform the job of lifeguard and possessed both administrative and academic credentials that reflected her professional competence.
