The Tenerife Island Council has revealed the ‘Lanzadera Sinfónica’ and ‘Lanzadera Ópera’ initiatives this Friday, which aim to provide complimentary transport from various locations for each performance by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and each opera title.
The announcement was made at a press briefing by the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila; the Councillor for Culture and Museums of Tenerife, José Carlos Acha, and the Councillor for Mobility, Eulalia García.
Rosa Dávila underscored the project’s significance, stating that it “not only promotes cultural engagement but also fortifies the commitment to sustainable transport, consequently minimising the reliance on private vehicles and advocating public transport for notable events.”
This service, she emphasised, “endeavours to encourage attendance at the concerts of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and the Tenerife Opera programme, whilst providing a comfortable and eco-friendly mode of transport for music enthusiasts.”
With the introduction of these shuttles, access to culture is being enhanced for all residents of the island, “irrespective of their place of abode.”
As stated by José Carlos Acha, island councillor for culture and president of the PIM and the Auditorium, this initiative “fosters access to culture and regional cohesion, anticipating that a greater number of Tenerife residents will take advantage of the outstanding symphonic and operatic season available on the island.”
Eulalia García, the island councillor for mobility and president of Titsa, highlighted “the public mission of Titsa, the Symphony, and the Auditorium, offering a free transport service from throughout the island, thus enhancing the quality of life for residents and boosting cultural tourism.”
This service will operate on Saturdays coinciding with the performances of the Tenerife Opera and Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.
The shuttles feature two dedicated routes to the Tenerife Auditorium, facilitating access for the public to the concerts held by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.
One route will commence from the northern area of the island, starting in Buenavista, whilst the other will begin from the south, initiating in Adeje.
Both routes will incorporate several key stops across different municipalities, enabling residents from various areas to conveniently reach the cultural events at the Tenerife Auditorium. The buses, which will accommodate 50 passengers, will include one vehicle specifically outfitted for individuals with reduced mobility, and will be appropriately marked.
The buses are programmed to depart at a time that guarantees that all passengers will arrive at the Tenerife Auditorium prior to 7:10 p.m., ensuring they can attend the concerts that begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.

To utilise this shuttle service, which is complimentary with a ticket for the symphony and opera performances, reservations will be necessary from 30 September, either online or at the physical box office, covering both already purchased tickets and future purchases.
