Aena has appointed Gonzalo Delgado Nordmann, an aerospace engineer with an MBA, as the new manager of El Hierro Airport, a role he will undertake starting November 1.
Delgado Nordmann joined Aena in 2019, working within the Management Office at Gran Canaria Airport.
In 2020, he took charge of the Management Control section, and since 2021, he has been in charge of the Terminal Management department at this airport, aiding in the achievement of high-quality service standards for passengers, users, and clients.
Throughout this period, his leadership and involvement in key processes concerning passengers, users, and various clients have been instrumental in enhancing the airport’s efficiency and service quality. Additionally, he has committed fully to addressing significant strategic areas of a social and institutional nature, as detailed by the airport operator in a statement.
Óscar González Betancort, the current manager of El Hierro airport, is stepping down to pursue a different professional opportunity at Gran Canaria airport.
During his tenure as manager, he has guided his team towards exceptional outcomes in perceived quality and has received numerous accolades from the global airport sector, including the ‘Most Enjoyable Airport’ award.
