A 31-year-old individual was moderately impacted after collapsing near the Altavista shelter within Teide National Park, located in the municipality of La Orotava (Tenerife), based on details provided by the Canary Islands 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Centre.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the location, prompting the dispatch of the rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government, which conducted a partial takeover of the area, allowing rescuers to reach the individual in distress.
Following this, they administered initial treatment, proceeded with the rescue, and airlifted him to the La Guancha helipad, from which a medical ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) transported him to Hospital del Norte.
Additionally, personnel from the Tenerife Fire Brigade Consortium and members of the Immediate Emergency Response Team (ERIE) of the Spanish Red Cross, activated by the Fire Brigade Consortium, played a role in the deployed emergency response.
