Rescue Mission: Four Stranded Souls Saved After Days Adrift off Tenerife

A Maritime Rescue helicopter has saved four individuals who were stranded in a rubber dinghy approximately 96 kilometres north of Tenerife, suffering from dehydration after being at sea for four days.

As reported by sources from the Maritime Rescue Service, two of the individuals on board are British, one hails from Gibraltar, another is Moroccan and the fourth is French.

The crew, recognising their perilous situation, sent a distress signal via satellite phone, indicating that water was flooding the vessel.

In response to the distress call, Salvamento dispatched a merchant ship, the Green Power, registered under the Panamanian flag, to the location.

The Civil Guard also deployed the Río Jándula vessel to assist in locating the inflatable craft.

The four individuals rescued were transported to Tenerife South Airport aboard the Helimer 201 operated by the Maritime Rescue Service.
