SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA, 14 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
La Gomera has welcomed professional visits from Scandinavian journalists and bloggers to enhance avenues for promoting the destination, while intensifying efforts in emerging markets.
As per a statement from the Cabildo, several Finnish media representatives have visited the island on a press trip arranged by La Gomera Tourism, with backing from the Spanish Tourist Office in Helsinki and collaboration from Promotur under the Government of the Canary Islands.
The island’s tourism councillor, María Isabel Méndez, emphasised the significance of this promotional initiative, “which enables professionals from both traditional and modern media to experience the island personally, and subsequently convey their experiences and the unique attributes of the island in their publications, encompassing its natural beauty, cultural richness, and gastronomic delights.”
Consequently, the visiting group explored all the towns of La Gomera through guided tours, uncovering the island’s most distinctive locations, experiencing its diverse cultural events, and indulging in its abundant gastronomy, whilst also engaging in the variety of outdoor activities set amidst nature.
The group included Anna Katri Raihna, a Finnish blogger and influencer, who shares her travels on her blog and social media, known as Adalmina’s Adventures. She chronicles her experiences focusing on storytelling, relaxation, disconnection, and nature. Through her posts, she reaches an audience exceeding 2 million on Instagram, 1.6 million on TikTok, and over 15,000 unique visitors to her blog.
Marko Samuli Jokela will also present stories for Moottori Media Oy, a monthly travel and lifestyle magazine available in both print and digital formats, targeting a high-income, active, and frequently travelling audience. The magazine boasts a readership of over 264,000, making it Finland’s largest travel media outlet.
Lastly, Petri Kalevi Laine, the editor of ‘Outdoor Magazine’, publishes nine editions annually with a circulation exceeding 39,000 copies, catering to urban dwellers seeking information about natural retreats and hiking destinations.
