Five Arrested in Tenerife for Drug Trafficking Including Marijuana, Mushrooms, and Laughing Gas

Officers from the National Police have apprehended five individuals of various nationalities who were reportedly involved in the trafficking of hashish, marijuana, rosin mushrooms, and nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, in the southern region of Tenerife.

Following several weeks of investigation, two establishments situated in the Las Verónicas area were raided at the end of last August, where it is alleged that these illegal substances were being sold, alongside a search of the principal suspect’s residence in Los Cristianos.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of around 10 kilos of marijuana, 1,232 grams of hashish, 682 grams of rosin—an extraction process involving pressure and heat applied to cannabis buds or hashish—141 roll-your-own cigarettes containing narcotics, 75 grams of mushrooms, 246 bottles of nitrous oxide, and approximately 6,000 euros in cash.

The operation concluded with the detention of five individuals aged between 23 and 42, one of whom had an existing criminal record for drug trafficking, according to information from the provincial police force.

At the residence of the primary suspect, the officers confiscated numerous documents pertaining to the case.

The two premises that were searched in Las Verónicas have been secured at the request of the relevant judicial authority.
