SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Canary Islands Government has commenced the tendering process for the completion of sections B and C of the second phase of the Ofra-El Chorrillo road on the TF-5, with a base budget of 6,571,317.49 euros.
This road initiates in the Ofra district, at the roundabout where Avenida Príncipes de España intersects with Carretera del Rosario, and concludes in the El Draguillo district, at the junction with the TF-2 motorway.
Councillor Pablo Rodríguez has highlighted that since the start of the legislative term, the General Directorate of Road Infrastructure “has been working to revive initiatives that had been stalled over the last four years.”
In line with this, he remarked in a statement, “we aimed to enhance this section of the TF-5, which is crucial for the connectivity of the island of Tenerife.”
Rodríguez further noted that “this project has been particularly intricate, resulting in a seven-year standstill,” although the Ministry is “dedicated to addressing each challenge meticulously to ensure that the project meets all requirements and progresses effectively.”
Accordingly, this tender encompasses the completion of section B, which extends from the Moraditas roundabout to the roundabout facilitating access to the San Matías neighbourhood and Calle El Abandono (San Matías roundabout), and section C, which covers the San Matías roundabout and its connection to the TF-2 motorway.
Specifically, this task is part of the 2018-2027 Road Agreement, with its execution being less complicated than section A since the only major construction, the bridge over the Barranco del Muerto, has already been completed.
