Bianca Cerbán is assured in dismissing a motion of no confidence, which has been speculated about a year post-elections in Granadilla de Abona. The PP councillor asserts that “no one would comprehend breaking the agreement with the PSOE to establish a government with two councillors who departed from the party. We approached the elections with that message, and we remain committed to it,” she stated, adding on Onda Tenerife that “we have our integrity, and we can rest easy,” emphasising that “the operations in the Town Hall are nearly flawless,” contrasting this with the efforts by the regional and island leaderships of her party and CC to alter the local agreement.
In discussions on La Carretera del Sur, on Onda Tenerife, Cerbán is optimistic about dismissing any government shift (PSOE-PP) in Granadilla. “It is true that, following the events in Puerto de la Cruz, discussions have intensified, but it caught me off guard because, to be candid, we are not contemplating any no-confidence motion. I wish to project an image of stability. I have not contemplated, nor has any no-confidence opportunity presented itself with my colleague Marcos Antonio, nor has anyone from the PP reached out to me regarding this. Therefore, I can afford to state that I uphold my promise, and, as a councillor, which is a privilege in politics, I have fulfilled all the commitments I have made to the residents and my fellow government colleagues, with Jennifer Miranda leading the way.”
Concerning the disciplinary actions that the PP announced would be initiated against the two elected councillors in Granadilla for forming a pact with the PSOE instead of CC and Vox, Cerbán mentions that “a few days ago I spoke with Manuel Domínguez in the Vice-Presidency and I came to believe that those no-confidence rumours were emerging due to that photo I shared on social media. Nothing could be further from the reality; our conversation centred on work and party matters, where I am no longer involved in the party’s organisational aspects, yet I remain a part of it. There were challenges at the start of the mandate, hearing many unpleasant remarks, but the situation has since improved. We had to stay low at that time, but we made the right choice to convey to the residents that nobody would have understood our forming a pact with CC again, especially when both new members from CC were the two councillors who left the PP.”

For just over a year, Cerbán has occupied the role of third deputy mayor, overseeing the areas of Economic Development, Primary Sector and Contracting, and she is highly satisfied, noting the positive employment statistics in the municipality: “We concluded July with 3,486 unemployed, 200 less than in the same month last year,” moving away from the almost 8,000 unemployed in Granadilla de Abona recorded just three years ago.
For her, “the industrial and commercial advancement of Granadilla has resulted in considerable growth, with employment opportunities such as the industrial estate adjacent to the airport and port, attracting international enterprises that create jobs.” Nevertheless, the councillor’s eyes brighten when she speaks of the primary sector: “I take great pride in the efforts we’ve made this year, notably with the return of the fish market to our well-known farmers’ market, allowing fresh fish to be purchased every Saturday and Sunday, while it is also available in Los Abrigos on the other days.”
