Bocacangrejo’s Heartbreak: Iconic Love Art Gives Way to Gray Floors

The charm of Bocacangrejo has been diminished after extensive wear. This coastal village, situated within the municipality of El Rosario, boasted an open-air art gallery for nearly three years, featuring its crowning glory: the multitude of vibrant hearts that adorned its seaside promenade. Following an act of vandalism five days ago, where the artwork was defaced with graffiti, the location is closing this chapter, and in its wake, a light grey floor and white walls now stand. There remains no evidence of the previous affection, apart from Rafael Marichal’s residence, which continues to showcase its distinctive and colourful decor.
