SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 10 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
On Wednesday 11, the Tenerife Island Council will present to the Government Council the approval of the Insular Programme of Priority and Urgent Municipal Works, totalling 1,800,000 euros, designated for municipalities with populations between 20,000 and 50,000 residents.
The Councillor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Sonia Hernández, notes in a statement that “the programme will primarily be funded by the Council; however, for projects with an execution budget that exceeds 200,000 euros, either individually or collectively, municipal co-financing will be permissible.”
Hernández highlights that “the objective of this programme is to offer economic and administrative support to the municipalities of the island for the preparation of projects, as well as the management and execution of urgent or priority works, which may include new constructions, enhancements, expansions, and repairs or maintenance, as long as they pertain to the functionality of the public service for the domestic supply of potable water.”
The councillor underscores that this initiative addresses one of the “key goals” established by the governing team during this term, “which is centred on collaboration and support for the municipalities of Tenerife, ensuring the comprehensive provision of municipal public services across the island.”
Sonia Hernández concludes by stating that “this programme has gained increased significance this year in light of the declared water emergency, making it essential to advance initiatives that enhance municipal drinking water supply networks.”
