Viana street, located in the heart of La Laguna, is currently hosting the XVII ‘Zenón the Photographer’ Exhibition of Historic Photographs. This extensive collection of historical images from the locality has been organised by the Casco Residents’ Association in partnership with the Festivals Department of La Laguna’s Town Hall.
Spanning over three decades, this collection encapsulates a variety of themes, chronicling the transformation of key streets in the town centre, memorable moments from local festivities, and significant events from bygone eras that have influenced numerous generations of Laguneros and Laguneras.
Admission to this exhibition is free, and it will be accessible until Sunday, 15 September. The catalogue features contributions from individuals who wished to participate selflessly in this initiative, as this exhibition is not a competition. Nevertheless, certificates will be awarded to all participants by the organisers.
The ‘Zenón the Photographer’ exhibition seeks to revive the styles and living conditions of the Laguna community over recent decades while simultaneously encouraging interest and engagement in photography. It highlights elements of heritage that often go unnoticed by visitors.
This exhibition, along with the 15th La Laguna City Photographic Marathon—also organised by the Casco Residents’ Association—forms part of the programme for the Festivities of the Holy Christ of La Laguna 2024.
