SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 9 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has given approval to a rapid response plan with a financial allocation of 2.2 million euros for the years 2024 and 2025. This initiative will facilitate the employment of 39 individuals to enhance the support provided to unaccompanied migrant minors.
This was disclosed by the government spokesperson, Alfonso Cabello, during a press briefing, where he mentioned that this week the newly recruited public workers, comprising 19 social workers and 20 administrative personnel, would commence their duties.
He stated that the aim is “clear” and focuses on ensuring the “necessary care” for minors, as well as executing all requisite procedures in collaboration with other public administrations to standardise their integration, education, healthcare, and documentation.
“This exemplifies the ongoing commitment and allocation of resources by the Government of the Canary Islands,” he clarified.
